How to Become an Avon Representative

Are you looking for a second income? A primary income? or just a chance to get out and meet new people? Well selling avon may be the answer your looking for.

When you become an avon representative you can set your own goals and have fun doing it. Avon offers several ways to make substantial income. The primary way is through sales, as you sell there great products you make a percentage. It depends on which avon product your selling but you can make anywhere from 10-50% typically. Your percentage is based mostly on sales, if you hit higher sales numbers you will get a bigger percentage back. Some items such as clothing have a fixed percentage but for the most part the more you sell the bigger slice of the pie you’ll be getting back.

The second way you will make money with avon is by creating a network. It is a form of multi level marketing that lets you earn more when you sign up other avon representatives. This also works better in bulk, when you sign up more people you get a bigger percent of their sales, up to about 13%. So if you have signed up 4 avon representatives that are selling $1000 each, you’d have just made about $500 sitting at home. It can be somewhat difficult to attract motivated representatives but when you do they will be selling at least $1500 per campaign (2 per month),  this is the best way to make money with avon with little effort required. Finding new Avon reps is fairly simple, doorknocking is an extremely easy way if your personable you’ll be signing up many reps just by going door to door and asking if there interested, you’d be amazed at how many people are intrigued by the avon opportunity. Other ways to find new reps is online tools such as craigs list or kijiji, using google ads to direct traffic to your interavon or myavon website signup forms, and converting customers into reps.

So now how do you sign up? easy, just go to the avon website for your country and click the big link that says “become an avon representative“. This will take you to a simple signup form that you can fill out and submit. This form will be sent out to the Avon district manager for your area and she will contact you and either sign you up herself or send another sales leader out to you. There is usually a $25 signup fee to cover the cost of the welcome kit you will be receiving that comes with an Avon bag, invoice book, sales brochures and a few other odds n’ ends. Once your signed up you can start selling avon immediately, you will be given access to the Avon online management systems where you can process your orders, track sales and keep your customer list organized. Your orders will be shipped to your front door in Avon boxes where you will then sort the products into bags to deliver to your customers.

To grow your Avon business you will need to find ways to increase your customer base and you should be sure to purchase extra books to hand out, be creative and keep thinking of new opportunities to attract new customers. Avon giftbaskets are a great way to get names, do a draw for a giftbasket with a contact form. The contact form will ask if you may contact them for avon products and 90% of the people will say yes, this is a very good way of getting new customers, just finding out where to set up is the hard part.

So now that you know a bit more about how to become an avon representative you can decide if it’s right for you, a $25 investment is a minimal cost for a home business and is a small risk by comparison. Trial Size Products

Gain customers by going to travel agents, hotels, airports, see if they will display small travel bags. The products are only .99 cents, less for you to order. Make your bags with a shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel and a bath scrunchie. Put them in a small bag from the dollar store with handles. I label them “For all Your Travel Needs”

I sell mine for $5.99 and at the end of the month depending on how many I sell I will give the agency or person in charge a gift for letting me sell my product.

Somewhere in the files here I am sure I spoke of Designing Your Avon Site. Some might say “What’s an eRep site? Ok we all have to start somewhere. So you have youravon.com site. If you log in and click on “My Account” at the top you will find “Maintain Profile”. This is where you will see several things useful to you including eRep. click to activate it and you now have an eRep site to design & share with your customers.

Something alot of Reps don’t know is

How to Attract New Avon Customers

So your all set up , excited to sell but don’t know how to increase your sales. The first thing you need to look at is how to increase the size of your customer list. One thing you need to always keep in mind is the cost to attract a new customer vs. the profit this new customer will generate for you. Think about it for a minute, how much money is a new customer going to generate for you over the course of a year? Say they order very, very minimal….say $10 per month. .. Basic math tells us that $10 x  12 months = $120 / year which will give you anywhere from $30-70 from this new customer. Remember this is a low ordering customer, think about how much you’d make if this were an Avon-a-holic!

So let’s go with the extreme low of $30 / year off a new customer. What are you prepared to do to attract them. If you can get one new customer off of a case of books it would be more then worth it, so where do you start. There is a great article (100 ways to sell avon) that gives some great advice but I’ll share what has worked for me.

Dropping Books Apartment Buildings – Simple, no door knocking required. Leave 15 books at the entrance way of an apartment, retirement home or any large building that people will be walking by them. Its an easy way to find new customers with very little effort required.

Reward your Go Getters - You likely have a closet full of avon products already, why not hand them out to the people that help you. Offer it to anyone whom is willing to bring in your books to there workplace and help you attract new sales.

Public Places – Get out to the malls, local arena’s and anywhere people come in bulk and preferably where they like to sit. (children’s events where the parents need to wait). Drop off some books and the sales will come to you.

Invest in Ads -  Use any reasonably priced advertising to find to customers and build your team. Remember the simple math? It applies to team building to, one good seller can cover your ad costs twenty times. Many reps shy away from this which leaves the advertising audience at your mercy. A great affordable advertising service is Google Adsense. If you have your Avon website built, drive local traffic to it with this well targeted pay per click service.

Offer a Discount Structure to your existing customers – Offer a 25% discount off of there order if they provide a referral that orders over $20. Provide an even bigger incentive such as refer 5 customers and receive a 10% discount for life, 10 customers for 15%.

These are a few of the great things that have worked for me, just never forget the profit generated by each customer as it can be well worth a small investment pursuing. Be creative, don’t give up and be patient.

From time to time we all could use a little bit more spending money. Avon brings forward an opportunity to earn extra income and set your own earning goals. Avon works by allowing anybody to sign up and take the business as serious as they’d like.

Earning money with Avon can be done a few different ways. First of all Avon offers good commission on anything you can sell for them. By building a customer base you can easily find people that just love Avon and are willing to spend lots of money on the products. You can expect to receive 10-50% depending on the product and your sales total. The more you sell, the bigger discount Avon is willing to provide.

The other way Avon makes you money is by signing up other people to sell. Using multi level marketing, Avon will pay you a commision on the people you sign ups sales total. You don’t even need to sell if you have enough people selling for you, you just sit back and let the money come to you!

AVON Approved Credit

Alot of new Reps ask? How much credit can I get from AVON; here is the answer. Do you have the new landing home page? If you do, your limit is on the right hand side. Otherwise, you should call customer service. Also, remember that your credit limit applies to your cost of the order, not the brochure price. On your credit limits, it will depend on what your “AVON” credit score tag is. Your district manager would know what that is if SHE signed you up. If another representative signed you up, she can tell you what your score is and should have told you the day that she signed you up. If you signed up online, then call customer service and ask them, they should be able to tell you, but only if you signed up online. If all else fails, you can email me and I will do your score for you. Your limits go up starting in campaign 21 for 4th quarter. Avon goes by your age, if you own or rent, have a job, a bank account, credit card and phone number, driver’s license and how many years you have lived where you are. They DO NOT pull a credit report. Avon is the #1 Micro-Lender in the world. People that take advantage of that are why Avon has had to start being stict with the credit limits. Last year Avon wrote off over 70 million dollars in bad debt, with 70% of that from new representative. It has to stop somewhere or they will have to raise prices and that does nobody any good. If you are going into your 4th campaign with Avon, your credit limit will double. If you have been late in making the payment to Avon, it most likely will not. Well, a big part of being able to achieve time freedom is to have a product that customers order regularly. Yes, cosmetics do run out, but it can take a couple of months. So that means you wont make another sale to that customer until they are finished their existing product. Ideally you want to have a product that is on a monthly subscription. This creates more repeat orders. On top of that, you should not have to drive around any products, or have to deal with collecting money. They should be shipped right to your customers’ front door and you should receive a “referral commission”.

Follow up we’ve all heard how important it is..some of you may do it some may not.. As for me I belive firmly in following up..
When I have a bad week my follow ups are my key to my sales.but foll ow up goes Far beyond just our local contacts we made and got their info during the week or our customer it goes beyond that.
How many have ever tried to call people you tossed to or hung on the ir door that you did not get a number for?

So lets Begin and let me show you how to do it
First  I suggest getting a notebook actually 2 notebooks
1 will be Called ” Tossed Streets”
The 2nd will be Called ” Tossing or tossed customer”
Anytime you go out to toss take the tossed Streets notebook Write Do wn the name and any other important information about the Street you toss ed.
Now lets head home and get on the computer
Lets Log in to the following website
Grab the notebook called tossing or tossed customers
This is what the Website will look like
Now see where I have my arrow pointing to Reverselook up that’s what we need
Now click on Address
This is what you should have now
Notice the Address in that box you ill put the Street name for Examp le im gonna use the Road I live on
Now all you  need to do is click find
If there is no telephone don’t bother clicking on it or you’ll waist a lot of time
Whitepages has changed and it takes longer now
Also watch for the same # listed 2 or 3 times. That’s just a family no need to  call of  them
Now just go thru and write it down 1 by 1
I write the  street name on top of the page
Then on each line I write
House #  last name and phone#
Now  a few things to keep in mind.  You may of wrote down Johnson but its no longer the johnsons Residence it might be the smiths
Don’t happen often but it does happen
After I call and if they say its okay to leave books etc I verify th eir addy and  get their name
Okay so what do we say?
Well  up until now my interest was customers not Recruits
And ive not figured out a way to work recruits into my speech..lol
But what I say is this
Hi this is Kathy milelr Avon rep. I left an Avon brochure for you a few days ago and just doing a follow up to see if you’ve had a chance to look thru it yet?
That’s my opener the rest come natural
I they say yes I have. Well did you see anything you were interested in?
If they say no. Then I ask Well id love to leave you future brochure s  which come out every 2 weeks ( they are  either gonna say ok ay or stop me and say im really not interested)
If they say no I haven’t had a chance..I just smile and  & nbsp; say oh I know  how busy everyone is these days. Seems like the res not  enough hours in our day that’s why I love Avon we can shop from home.. Id like to add you to my book list to receive new brochures e very 2 weeks
And that’s it
When they agree I add their name to my customer list
I know whose ordered and who hasn’t
A few tips
1.) always be honest if they ask where did you get my # tell them..
2.) don’t call before 10 am or after 8 PM
I  personally normally stop at 5.
3.) some may disagree with this but don’t get someone else to do you r work for you.To me that’s very    unpersonal and if some one called me and said they were calling for a rep I would not order from them no matter how bad I wanted some Avon.
4.) never push..if  they say im allergic of course let them kno w we have new lines of products and a lot of products that  even the most allergic can use. But I firmly belive if you push that you could pu sh away someone Referring you a customer
This is harder to type up than it is to do..lol
Its easier for me to tell people than to try to type it up as I am s o comfortable with what I do
This is time consuming but  thec customers who don’t call you a re Amazing
Last Christmas I got a $200 order from someone that had told me she kept forgetting to call me
Do not call list- I don’t worry about it.. I don’t know if we should or not but ive only had 1  lady get upset and tell me  im on t he DNC list.
And that’s cause I called her twice accidently I just appologized
Oh one more thing always thank them for taking the time to talk to y ou no matter if they don’t want a book or not
 I always tlel them if you know of anyone who can use my servic es please pass my book on to them
